However, the 31-year-old has proven to be one of the biggest flops in the club’s history after numerous injuries.

He last played on February 19 and has since undergone ankle surgery with many reports suggesting Madrid were willing to cut their losses and sell him.

Arsenal emerged as one potential shock option for him, while rumours have also mounted that a return to Chelsea could be on the cards.

He spent seven years with the Blues, winning numerous honours and scoring 110 goals in that period.

But his manager has now moved to end that talk by insisting that Hazard’s only desire is to make a big impact at the Bernabeu next term.

Speaking to Spanish outlet goltelevision, Ancelotti said: “Eden Hazard will stay here at Real Madrid next season.

“Hazard’s plan is very clear, he wants to show his quality next season.”

Despite his affinity to Chelsea, Hazard has previously revealed that he was a big fan of Arsenal during his younger days.

He said: “When I was little, the team I watched the most was the French national team.

“For me, the players I looked up to were Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry.

“It’s difficult for me to admit because of my relationship with Chelsea, but I really liked the Arsenal team at the time.

“They had players like Robert Pires, [Sylvain] Wiltord, and [Patrick] Vieira, so it was mainly French players that I followed growing up.”
